Emergency Medical Technician

Required Qualifications

* Must have a current EMT-B certification or higher
* Must have a diploma from a recognized high school or a general education development certificate recognized by the Board of Education of Maryland.
* Must be 18 years of age.
* Must possess a valid driver’s license equivalent to a noncommercial class C Maryland driver’s license
* Must be able to pass a medical examination.
* Must be of good moral character and emotionally stable, as determined by a background investigation, and periodic drug testing.

* Experience with 911 Responses preferred

Conditions of Employment

EMTs will be assigned to work from 0700 Hrs to 1700 Hrs, which will include weekends and/or holidays. EMTs are subject to call to duty in emergencies, and may be required to work with little or no notice.

Physical Requirements

Applicants must be able to safely perform the duties of the position without posing a threat to the health or safety of themselves or others.

Medical Examination

Applicants selected for an appointment to a position must successfully complete a physical examination. The examination may include urinalysis to prove the applicant is drug free.
